This episode tells the story of Angela Blackmore, a twenty-one year old mother with a two year old son. She was separated from the father of her child and began living with her new partner. They lived in Christchurch and she had just gained legal custody of her son. On the night of 31st January 1995, while her partner was out working, she was murdered in the kitchen of their home, being stabbed thirty-nine times.
